When the engine of the aerial work platform is normal, the failure of the starter or the battery will make the engine difficult to start, or even impossible to start. In this case, first of all, it is necessary to understand the use of the aerial work platform starter and battery, so as to roughly determine the fault location.
If the battery has been used for more than one year, you should focus on checking the battery, because it is very likely that the battery is damaged and cannot be used; if the battery has been used for a short time and the starter has not been overhauled for a long time, you should start the inspection from the starter. Then analyze and deal with the failure phenomenon at startup, the detailed analysis is as follows:
1. When starting, only hear the "cluck" sound of the starter electromagnetic switch, or when the starter starts to drive the crankshaft to rotate slowly for a few times, and then the starter electromagnetic switch "clucks" sound, but the crankshaft does not rotate. This phenomenon generally belongs to the battery "off grid" fault.
2. The aerial work platform can be started every time when it is temporarily stopped, but the crankshaft can only be rotated once when the parking time is long or when it is started the next day. This phenomenon belongs to the serious self-discharge of the battery, and its pole plates and separators are seriously aged, indicating that the battery is close to being scrapped, and the battery needs to be replaced at this time.
3. When the aerial work platform starts, the starter suddenly rotates weakly, accompanied by the smell of burning rubber or smoke coming out of the battery. This situation is mostly due to poor contact of the pole pile and the pole pile clip and heat and burn.
4. If the starter drive gear and the engine flywheel ring gear make an idling sound when the aerial work platform starts, the reasons may be the following two: one is the deformation of the meshing surface of the flywheel ring gear; the other is the starter drive gear and the flywheel. The clearance of the ring gear is too large. The two cannot be engaged, and the engine cannot be started.
5. As soon as the main power switch is turned on, the starter drive gear meshes with the flywheel ring gear and rotates. If this kind of failure occurs, one is that the holding coil of the starter electromagnetic switch is wrongly connected to the power terminal; the other is that the three wires on the key switch are wrongly connected. The judgment method is: when the key is in the "0" position, the starter drives The gear does not rotate, and at the "2" position, the motor is started to drive the gear to rotate together with the flywheel ring gear.
6. When the start switch is turned to the start position, the engine cannot be started, and there is no other phenomenon. For this kind of failure, one is that the key and switch are not connected to the starter circuit due to wear; the other is that the starter relay is not connected to the starter electromagnetic switch circuit; the third is that the power switch is not connected to the main circuit.
