Hydraulic lifts in daily life

Oct 24, 2022

Lifts are often seen in our lives, and they are full of our lives, from platform passenger lifts to hydraulic freight elevators for cargo transportation, hydraulic lifts, and hydraulic lift platforms are always convenient for our lives. Skyscraper lifts The invention of lifts made skyscrapers possible, and passenger transport is the most common use of lifts. The passenger capacity required by passenger lifts is related to the building area and use. General passenger lifts can carry passengers ranging from several hundred kilograms to more than 2,000 kilograms. Lifts used in buildings below four floors may be hydraulic. The elevator speed used in buildings with less than ten floors is generally 1.5 m/s (300 ft/min). The speed of more than ten floors can reach 2.5 m/s (500 ft/min), as well as 6 m/s (1200 ft/min), and there are hydraulic lift platform freight elevators for cargo, the lifting speed is generally 3-6 meters every minute.

Most high-rise office buildings are equipped with passenger lifts. In order to increase the speed, efficiency and usable area of the elevator, most high-rise buildings will divide the elevator into groups, each group is responsible for part of the floor, and make different adjustments and scheduling according to the usage pattern of different floors at different times. There are also some very tall skyscrapers. Passengers need to use the non-stop fast elevators, first from the ground to the high-rise sky lobby (ie high-rise elevator lobby, Sky lobby), and then transfer to the elevator between different floors to the destination. A few high-rise buildings are equipped with the latest elevators, and the elevator pre-call system can be used to pre-call the designated floor to be reached on the office floor or lobby.

A freight lift is a kind of special-purpose lifting machinery for freight that must manually control the lift door. Generally, freight lifts are larger and more loaded than passenger lifts, ranging from 2,000 to 5,000 kilograms. Most of them are traction type. There is generally no good decoration in the freight elevator to avoid damage during transportation. Generally, there are special elevator control personnel on duty to control the elevator door switch.

There is a very small freight elevator, called dumb waiter in English, which is specially used for transporting food, cups and plates in multi-storey restaurants. Such debris lifts are also used to transport books in multi-storey libraries.

In construction sites, warehouses and other places, rack and pinion elevators (commonly known as "cages" in Hong Kong) are sometimes used to transport goods and allow workers to ride. This elevator has no elevator shaft and uses racks to support and move the car.
